Product Update #4
New mask cover shipping + what we’re improving right now

Michael here!
Thank you for sending in so much feedback over the past couple of weeks. So far, we’ve received 314 feedback submissions, covering 75 unique issues, ideas, and feature requests.
Keep it coming.
Right now, we’re building Bía with you. The feedback you send helps us decide what to fix first, what to improve next, and what needs more attention before we ship to the next group of customers.
Once we launch, thousands more people will join the conversation and feedback will naturally take longer to sort through.
So fire up the Bía app, give it a shake, and tell us your thoughts!
New mask cover shipping
One of the biggest pieces of feedback has been around the strap.
The current strap works, but it is not where we want it to be. So we’re trying something different.
We’ll be sending you a new mask cover to test with an updated system. Before we ship it, we need you to confirm your address once again.
Since we’re sending a new mask cover, we also want to give you more freedom to experiment with your current cover if comfort has been an issue.
You can make adjustments to the soft cover, test foam changes, explore fit changes, and show us what would make Bía more comfortable for you.
Please do not cut into the electronics or sealed components. But if you want to experiment with the soft mask cover, go for it.
And please send photos after. We genuinely love seeing what you try, because it helps us understand the real-world fit issues faster.
What We’re Improving Right Now
Audio Playback
We’ve uncovered why some customers have had audio work intermittently, or not play at all. We’re working on a firmware update coming later this week to address these issues.
Charging Issues
Some customers have reported that their masks are not charging or are charging slowly.
We’ve identified a few different causes and we expect to address this issue through a firmware update in the future.
Neural Soundscapes
We’re improving how Neural Soundscapes are selected, mixed, and played each night. The goal is to make the experience feel more dynamic, more personal, and more varied from night to night.
Bluetooth Connectivity
Every phone handles Bluetooth a little differently, and your reports are helping us find edge cases much faster. We’re reading everything and working through fixes as quickly as we can.
User Interface
We’re also improving the small touches that make Bía easier to understand.
Things like confirming when a sleep session has been recorded, making sure the lights on the mask match the user manual, improving Wi-Fi connection messages, and giving you clearer feedback when something needs attention.
Small details, but they make a big difference.
Q4 Feature Roadmap
This quarter, we’ll be focused on releasing and improving:
- Neurofeedback
- Mastery and Sleep Statistics
- Content additions
- Meditation
- More ways to interact with Bía without opening the app
- Quality of life improvements across the whole experience
For Mastery and Sleep Statistics, we’ve spent the last month refining our algorithms so that when we show you sleep data, we can stand behind it.
We’ll release these features carefully and make your historic sleep data available as they come online.
A few quick reminders
- Read the Getting Started Guide: It covers how to ensure Bía is comfortable, how to control volume, how to manage alarms, and other tips for your first nights with Bía.
- Review the Fit & Comfort Guide: If Bía hasn’t felt quite right yet, this guide walks you through a few simple adjustments that can make a big difference in comfort.
- Sleep Statistics are coming later in Beta: We’re analyzing sleep data and validating our models so we’re confident in our accuracy before showing you Statistics.
- Keep the feedback coming: Shake your phone while using the Bía app to report a bug or suggest an improvement.
We’re analyzing sleep data and validating our models so we’re confident in our accuracy before showing you Statistics.
During a session, click either button to adjust the volume. You might have to click the buttons multiple times to raise or lower the volume to your prefered level.
To trigger a firmware update:
- Connect Bía to Wi-Fi using the App.
- Plug Bía into power.
- Leave it connected while the update installs.
- Bía may restart up to two times during the process.
