Michael here! Next week, we're back at our manufacturing partners overseeing the final assembly of Beta and we couldn't be more excited.

That means the next step is FINAL assembly, packaging, and shipping the first Beta units out the door.

Over the past year we've been hand-assembling all of our test units. It's a straightforward process, so while we plan on automating a large part of the assembly, if something goes wrong, we'll go back to manual to make sure units get out of the door on time.

This is a huge milestone, and one we’ve been working toward for a long time.

What is Beta?

Beta is a closed group of 500 testers who will be the first to receive the Bía experience.

This group plays a major role in helping us catch bugs, crashes, and edge cases through surveys, feedback, and calls to make sure every issue is accounted for.

Once the issues are found, we can fix them through regular app and firmware updates without changing any of the hardware. 

It’s a controlled way to test the full system in real life, with real people, before we ship at scale.

One of the biggest pieces of feedback from our first Beta group was the strap system. They worked... but they didn’t feel premium, simple, or comfortable.

So while we improved all aspects of Bía's comfort, we're especially excited to showcase the new straps.

Now we have two versions for Beta customers to test. The winner is what we’ll send to everyone.

It’s a small detail, but small details make the product.
