Founders Update #48
Michael here! I’m back from visiting our manufacturing partners for the full month of October. Andrew’s still overseas, working closely with our team as we push through the final stage before certification.

Huge Improvements from the Overseas Visit
Trips like this always move us forward. Every face-to-face leaves us sharper, better aligned, and closer to the goal line. Here are two major highlights:
Bone-Conduction Audio
After testing dozens of shapes, materials, and designs, we’ve landed on the best-sounding custom speakers. The bass is deep, and the sound has a rich, atmospheric quality that elevates the entire Bía experience.
Electronics and Heat Stress
During our last round of testing, we noticed some components cracking under the recommended baking temperatures from the supplier (yes, you have to bake sensitive electronic components). We worked closely with our manufacturer to troubleshoot the issue and ended up developing an entirely new baking process to ensure our boards are strong and reliable for mass production.
Certification Update
We’re officially out of the "final tweaks" phase. Everything is locked in and ready for regulatory review.
Once we get the green light, we’ll begin mass production and start shipping.
However, there’s one hitch.
The current U.S. government shutdown has paused many federal offices, including the FCC. That’s created a backlog for certifications and an unclear impact on our timelines. It could be nothing, it could be a few weeks. For now, we're sticking to the mass production in January until we hear otherwise.
We’re monitoring the situation closely and we’ll keep you posted every step of the way.
