How Bía tracks, organizes, and displays your sleep stats
Michael here! Today I would like to show you how Bía tracks, organizes, and displays your sleep stats.
Bía Sleep Stats 📈
At Bía we look at sleep a bit differently. We see sleep as a process that provides the energy we need to tackle tomorrow. This means Bía is focused on maximizing energy levels when you wake up instead of, for example, maximizing the time in a specific sleep stage (though that may be a result).
So let's get into stats! Bía organizes your sleep into 3 categories:
Energy - Mastery - Data.
Energy estimates how you'll perform during the day. It scores your alertness, energy potential, and at what times during the day you'll feel the most alert.
Mastery is everything within your control. It's the time you go to bed, the time you wake up, and the activities you do throughout the day. Tagging activities such as "Late Caffeine" or "Early Exercise" will affect your mastery score.
You can add in your own tags to track custom activities. For example, you can add in a sleep aid such as Melatonin to see how it effects your sleep data - we keep it simple but offer the ability to put in extra details such as how much and at what time.
Data is everything outside of your control.
- Sleep Hypnogram (Awake, Light, REM, Deep)
- Sleep Efficiency
- Sleep Latency
- Sleep Disruptions
- Heart Rate Variability (HRV)
- Heart Rate
- SP02
- Breathing Rate
- Body Temperature
- Ambient Temperature
- Tosses & Turns
- Noises (Snoring, Talking, etc)
- And more...
We're focused on helping you discover your BEST sleep. There isn't a one-size-fits all program for sleep. Some people need 8 hours, others function just fine on 6, some people need hours to wind down before bed, others fall asleep instantly but wake up throughout the night.
By looking at your energy level, we personalize Bía's algorithms to optimize your sleep data and help you discover the most beneficial sleep habits that lead to you waking up feeling awesome every day.
Our Wins & Learnings 🏆
🏆 With our current electronics we've been able to use the mobile app to begin a sleep program, end the program, upload the data, and display it in the app just as a customer would. This is a big step in getting ready for Beta.
💡 We are making great progress testing the new electronics. With 14 components to test, 7 have passed, 2 have not, and 5 are remaining. The good news is the components that did not pass have easy fixes and we've already reached out to the manufacturer to make the changes for the rest of the batch.
Your Comments, Our Responses ⚡
What's the update on timelines?
Right now we're onboarding two new factories that we signed contracts with while Andrew was overseas. At the moment we're still tracking for Q4 this year, however, we'll have a bigger update once the factories are up and running.
Will there be custom size options?
Our samples and simulations show that Bía should fit ~95% of people. How the mask fits will be the #1 question we will ask hundreds of Beta customers so we can make adjustments before shipping Bía out to everyone. While we don't anticipate any major changes, we're planning to include Regular and Small strap sizes to fasten Bía.
